Fort Hill Clemson Club members and guests were treated to a very special speaker at the August 7, 2025 Big Thursday luncheon. Billy Davis, a 1984 Clemson graduate, was on Danny Ford\u2019s 1981 National Championship team and also played baseball for Coach Bill Wilhelm. After a brief stint in the NFL, Davis worked on Senator Strom Thurmond\u2019s staff, then had a 27 year career with the United States Secret Service. Currently, he is Director of Security for Franklin Graham\u2019s Samaritan\u2019s Purse. The crowd was captivated with stories surrounding his Secret Service career of being in charge of detail for Hillary Clinton as First Lady and as a Presidential Candidate, in addition to working on detail of the highest offices of President, Vice-President and a US Administrator to Iraq. He spoke of tense situations when providing protection for Franklin Graham in dangerous locations around the world which Samaritan\u2019s Purse serves. Many attendees stated they could have listened to him speak all afternoon so he may be invited to speak at another event in the future!<\/p>\n
