Our featured Clemson alumni mental health professionals are bringing the conversation we all need right now. \n\n\nABOUT OUR FEATURED PANELISTS\nMelanie K. Jett\, DC\, R. EEG.T\, ’01 \nNeurofeedback Specialist & Clinical Neurophysiologist — Rewired by TrueBrain\, Florence \nMelanie Jett brings more than 20 years of experience in Neurophysiology\, Chiropractic\, and Applied Neuroscience to her role at Rewired by TrueBrain in Florence. As a Registered EEG Technologist and Intraoperative Neurophysiologist\, she has worked alongside top ENT\, general surgeons\, neurosurgeons\, orthopedic surgeons\,and neurologists at institutions including Mount Sinai Hospital in New York\, UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh\, Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago\, Duke University Hospital in Raleigh and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio\, just to name a few. \nMelanie’s expertise spans EEG and ERP-based brain mapping\, intraoperative monitoring\, and neurodiagnostic testing — all of which she now integrates into personalized neurofeedback and cognitive rehabilitation programs for Rewired clients. Her deep understanding of brainwave patterns\, sleep\, and cognitive function enables her to design highly targeted protocols that support recovery\, resilience\, and performance across a wide range of conditions\, from post-concussion symptoms and PTSD to focus and sleep optimization. \nIn Florence\, Melanie leads the neurofeedback and assessment program for all Rewired clients\, combining advanced neurotechnology with a compassionate\, evidence-based approach to care. Her mission is simple: to help every individual reconnect with their best brain. \nAsa T. Briggs\, DNP\, ’02 \nBoard CertifiedPsychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner- Briggs Psychiatry and Behavioral Health \nDr. Asa T. Briggs\, DNP began his career as a psychiatric practitioner at Unity Health Care\, Inc. (Unity)\, the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the District of Columbia. For seven years\, Dr. Briggs served as the Discipline Director of Psychiatry at Unity providing leadership in the are of quality improvement and best practice guidelines. \nOriginally from South Carolina\, Dr. Briggs has served as an adviser to profit and not-for-profit organizations. His expertise aids organizations in understanding the importance of increasing their capacity to address the dearth of local and global resources necessary to appropriately treat vulnerable populations with mental health challenges. \nIn 2022\, Dr. Briggs opened Briggs Psychiatry and Behavioral Health in Greenville\, SC to serve individuals with mental heal challenges in low resource communities. \n\n\n\nABOUT THE EMPOWERED SERIES\nThe Clemson Black Alumni Council (CBAC) proudly presents ‘The Empowered Series’ — a quarterly conversation experience designed to connect\, educate\, and empower alumni across the globe.
